Before you start
- You have created an Monaio account.
- You have connected at least one bank account to Monaio.
- You have access to the AI assistant you want to use.
Use the name Monaio business when you create the connection. Sign in with your Monaio account.
Use the ChatGPT app on your computer. This guide requires MCP servers to be available in the app’s settings. Access depends on your app version, account and workspace rules. ChatGPT ↗
Open the ChatGPT app
Sign in to the ChatGPT app on your computer.
Add an MCP server
Open Settings → MCP servers and select Add server.
Enter the connection address
Name the server Monaio business, choose Streamable HTTP and paste the address below. Save the server and select Restart to reload connections.

Find Monaio business in the MCP server list and select Authenticate. Follow Monaio’s sign-in window, review the access and choose the profile with your own bank data.
Test the connection
Open a conversation on the computer where you added Monaio business. Type /mcp to check the connection and try the question below.

You’re ready!
Once you receive an answer based on your own transactions, your connection is ready. You could ask:
- How much have I spent on groceries this month?
- Which subscriptions am I paying for?
- When did I last pay the dentist?
