What is Monaio?
Monaio connects your bank accounts to ChatGPT or Claude, so you can ask questions about your spending and recurring payments.
What is MCP?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, a standard that connects AI assistants to other services. Monaio uses MCP so ChatGPT or Claude can fetch information from the bank accounts you choose to connect.
Can Monaio move my money?
No. Monaio has read-only access and cannot make payments or transfers.
Who can see my data?
Subaio processes your bank information to provide Monaio. When you use Monaio in ChatGPT or Claude, your chosen AI service can fetch information from the accounts you have connected. This information becomes part of the conversation and is handled under the AI service’s own terms and privacy policy.
Which banks are supported?
The current bank list is shown when you connect a bank to your Monaio account. Select the country your bank is in, then search for its name. Our help page explains how to find your bank.
Do I need to pay for ChatGPT or Claude?
Some features in ChatGPT or Claude may require a separate subscription with that provider.
Who is behind Monaio?
Subaio is the Danish company behind Monaio and has developed technology for banks for over 10 years. Subaio is authorised to retrieve account information and is supervised by the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority.
